IKEA Sektion Remodel Part 4 - Features

This post will detail some of the features in the kitchen. My unexpected kitchen favorite is the faucet which is touch sensitive (Brizo 64025LF Pullout Spray High-Arc Kitchen Faucet with MagneDock, Diamond Seal, Chrome). I figured it would be infuriating like the motion sensors in public restrooms, but it works wonderfully. And it's very useful when my hands are yucky!

The countertop light strips had optional outlet plugs (with USB connection too). This is a nice feature because we didn't have to put the outlets in the backsplash, but they were still readily available.

Garbage disposal and RO filtration system under the sink
The Ikea sink only has space for one faucet hole, so the RO filtration was routed through the refrigerator which means the ice cubes are RO filtered now too. Yay!

Once the kitchen was more or less usable, we used it, and so  we didn't get around to buying or installing the backsplash for about another year. Which meant we could afford a more expensive mosaic. We chose the Camilla w/ mirror glass and stone from The Tile Shop.

And that's it. More or less. We've been using the kitchen for a couple years and I still love it. I'd definitely choose to use IKEA cabinets again! The fit and finish is exceptional and I can't complain about the price. If I had a bigger budget, I'd probably have some custom wood fronts made for the cabinets and drawers, but I've been very happy with the Ikea fronts, they are durable and easy to clean and I wanted the painted finish anyway.
